Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Join a leading manufacturing business in Newton Aycliffe as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, delivering both reactive and planned maintenance to maximise machine uptime and support production performance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plant equipment.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnose faults and minimise downtime.
• Repair electrical and mechanical faults and perform PLC troubleshooting.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of all work in the CMMS system.
• Ensure all activities are performed safely and in line with company procedures.

Required profile

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3/C&G (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
