Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Join a leading UK food manufacturer as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production equipment, ensuring high standards and maximum machine efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out all engineering and maintenance activities across the plant.
• Use a Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) system to schedule and record work.
• Maintain and troubleshoot packaging machinery, presses, ovens, printing units, gearboxes, pumps and other mechanical equipment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost equipment reliability.

Required profile

• Engineering background with hands‑on experience in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Apprentice‑trained engineer or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to broaden skills through extensive on‑the‑job training.

Required skills

• Experience with PLC systems and automated machinery.
• Understanding of PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) systems.
• Knowledge of packaging machinery, presses, ovens, printing units, gearboxes and pumps.
• General mechanical maintenance competence.
