Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with a long‑established production site near Okehampton to expand its maintenance team. The Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will work Monday‑to‑Friday in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, focusing on reliable plant performance and downtime reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out fault‑finding, repairs and component replacement on diverse electrical and mechanical systems.
• Support the preventative maintenance schedule to minimise unplanned breakdowns.
• Work safely within electrical panels, handling isolations, motor controls, sensors, relays and PLCs.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement projects aimed at reducing downtime.
• Collaborate with the Supervisor and Engineering Manager to prioritise work and keep production running smoothly.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification or apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Solid experience in a maintenance role within a production or manufacturing setting.
• Comfortable performing both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance reporting.

Required skills

• Fault‑finding and repair techniques.
• Component replacement.
• Preventative maintenance planning.
• Electrical panel work, isolations, motor controls, sensors, relays and PLCs.
• Use of CMMS software for reporting.
