Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer – £45,000

About the role

The Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer will join an established maintenance team in North Essex, supporting a well‑known manufacturing operation. You will be responsible for keeping production equipment and site facilities running safely and efficiently through both planned and reactive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) across a range of manufacturing plant equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment faults, breakdowns and health‑and‑safety issues promptly.
• Carry out general building and facility repairs as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the site.
• Undertake additional reasonable duties to ensure smooth site operation.

Required profile

• Recognised apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical or electro‑mechanical engineering (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ, BTEC or ONC).
• Minimum five years’ experience in a multi‑skilled industrial maintenance environment.
• BS 7671 (IEE 18th Edition) qualification.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to work proactively, as part of a team and under pressure.

Required skills

• Fault‑finding across hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical circuits.
• Basic machining competencies.
• Computer literacy – Excel, Outlook, Word.
• IOSH safety qualification (desirable).
• MEWP licence (desirable).
• FLT licence (desirable).
• C&G 2391 Electrical Inspection & Testing (desirable).
• LEV P601 qualification (desirable).
