Multi‑Skilled Operative

About the role

We are seeking a versatile Multi‑Skilled Operative to join our team in Brent, delivering responsive repairs across occupied social housing. The role combines carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating tasks to keep homes safe, functional and well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out day‑to‑day repairs in occupied and void social housing properties.
• Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves, internal doors, handles, locks and hinges.
• Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors.
• Identify and fix minor plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps and blocked sinks.
• Perform patch plastering, wall and ceiling make‑good, and complete tiling repairs including grouting and sealing.
• Paint and decorate to a professional finish after repairs.
• Work sensitively in residents’ homes and participate in out‑of‑hours emergency rota as required.
• Record job details, materials used and completion notes using handheld devices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in domestic repairs across multiple trades.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality work safely and on time.

What we offer

• Annual salary up to £42,020 (visible).
• Company van and fuel card.
• 42.5 hours per week (Monday‑Friday, 8‑5).
