Multi‑Trade Carpenter – Repairs & Maintenance

About the role

The Hyde Group is seeking an experienced carpenter who can handle a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks in customers' homes. You will deliver high‑quality workmanship while providing friendly, professional service.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out multi‑trade repairs with a primary focus on carpentry, including doors, windows, skirting, architraves and flooring.
• Diagnose and resolve day‑to‑day issues such as kitchen units, worktops, minor wall repairs, tiling and basic plumbing.
• Complete carpentry works in kitchens, bathrooms, doors and other areas to a high standard.
• Undertake associated tasks like patch plastering, sealing, decorating touch‑ups, minor tiling and replacement of fixtures, fittings and ironmongery.
• Work independently, manage your own workload and collaborate with other trades on complex projects.
• Record work completed, materials used and update progress through work orders and reporting systems.
• Deliver excellent customer service and keep residents informed throughout the repair process.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety policies and standards.

Required profile

• Solid experience across carpentry with ability to perform general maintenance and multi‑trade repairs.
• Confident using hand and power tools.
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Good communication skills and a customer‑friendly attitude.
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands‑on work.
• Experience in social housing is a bonus.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
