Music Technology Teacher (Friday, Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Music Technology Teacher to deliver one day‑a‑week (Fridays) lessons at a specialist Performing Arts SEMH college in Islington. The role focuses on post‑16 learners (16‑18) and aims to re‑engage them through practical music production, recording and composition.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, hands‑on Music Technology lessons for 16‑18‑year‑olds.
• Teach digital music production using industry‑standard software such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, GarageBand, BandLab or Cubase.
• Support students with recording, sequencing, mixing and composition projects.
• Prepare learners for accredited Music Technology qualifications (RSL Music Practitioner experience desirable).
• Collaborate with support staff to maintain an inclusive, positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE, PTLLS or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Music Technology at KS5 or post‑16 level.
• Strong knowledge of digital music production software.
• Experience working with young people, preferably within SEMH, SEND or alternative provision.
• Ability to build positive relationships and inspire creativity.
