National Account Manager – FMCG

About the role

The National Account Manager will join a fast‑growing FMCG business in Halstead, overseeing key customer relationships across Retail and Foodservice channels. Reporting to the Head of Sales, the role focuses on driving profitable growth, securing new opportunities and delivering exceptional service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement customer plans aligned with business objectives.
• Manage and grow existing accounts in Retail and Foodservice sectors.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities to support company growth.
• Lead commercial negotiations to maximise sales, profit and operating income.
• Negotiate pricing agreements, payment terms and trading conditions.
• Produce annual account plans and forecast customer demand.
• Support customer NPD and EPD projects and SKU planning.
• Analyse market gaps and customer opportunities for growth.
• Maintain accurate account records, visit reports and project documentation.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Proven experience in national or key account management within FMCG.
• Strong track record of achieving sales targets and profit growth.
• Excellent relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and cross‑functional teams.
• Good understanding of retail and foodservice market dynamics.
• Analytical mindset with experience in demand forecasting and SKU planning.
