National Account Manager

About the role

This is a senior commercial position within a growing food manufacturing business. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will own major UK retail accounts for both branded and own‑label products and lead a small team of National Account Executives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of major retail accounts across branded and own‑label ranges.
• Lead, coach and develop two National Account Executives.
• Build long‑term customer relationships to drive profitable growth.
• Identify and develop new commercial opportunities within existing accounts.
• Lead negotiations and ensure agreements align with strategic objectives.
• Work closely with Supply Chain to maximise service levels and product availability.
• Develop promotional plans and commercial initiatives to increase sales.
• Coordinate price increases and manage commercial discussions.
• Deliver successful new and seasonal product launches.
• Collaborate with Operations, Technical and other internal teams to meet customer expectations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a National Account Manager, preferably within food manufacturing or a related sector.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small commercial team.
• Strong track record of managing major UK retail accounts and delivering profitable growth.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
