About the role
The National Account Manager will own Islands Chocolate’s retail channel, driving sales growth and expanding brand presence across major grocers, online retailers and independent outlets. This commercial role combines strategic planning with hands‑on execution to increase distribution, product range and in‑store visibility.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute joint business plans with key retail customers to achieve revenue, volume and margin targets.
- Identify and secure opportunities to expand distribution and product assortment across grocery, convenience, online and café formats.
- Manage the retail channel P&L, own forecasting and demand‑planning in collaboration with internal teams.
- Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, promotions and trading terms.
- Monitor performance against targets, implement corrective actions and analyse competitor and category trends.
- Design and deliver promotional and shopper‑marketing initiatives, both in‑store and digital.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, supply chain, finance and operations to ensure seamless execution.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing national retail accounts, preferably in consumer‑goods or food‑beverage sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting sales and margin objectives.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with senior buying and category teams.
- Data‑driven mindset, capable of analysing sales performance and market trends.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
Required skills
- Experience with POS systems and retail customer platforms.
- Familiarity with e‑commerce platforms and digital placement tools.
- Proficiency in forecasting and demand‑planning processes.
