National Planning Manager – Lead a Transformation

About the role

Join an award‑winning logistics provider in Swindon as the National Planning Manager, leading a critical transformation of their transport planning function. You will own the development of a centralised planning team and drive network optimisation across the UK‑wide operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a central transport planning team.
• Transition the planning function from site‑led to a fully centralised model.
• Identify and implement improvements in vehicle fill, route efficiency and network utilisation.
• Support rollout and optimisation of Transport Management Systems and related technology.
• Use data, management information and operational insight to drive continuous performance improvement.
• Build strong relationships with operational, commercial and customer‑facing teams.
• Deliver initiatives that enhance service levels, customer satisfaction and profitability.

Required profile

• Significant experience in transport planning, preferably within a multi‑site or national operation.
• Proven leadership experience in a planning or network‑planning environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
