Natural Resources Policy & Reporting Advisor

About the role

The Natural Resources Policy & Reporting Advisor will lead the creation, integration and assurance of natural resources policy, performance reporting and environmental governance across the Pennon Group. This role supports investment decisions that maximise environmental, social and financial value while meeting regulatory and biodiversity commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice to ensure natural resources management aligns with the Biodiversity Strategy, Net‑Zero ambitions and wider environmental commitments.
• Monitor emerging environmental legislation and regulatory changes, advising on impacts and opportunities.
• Develop and implement policy frameworks covering biodiversity, natural capital, carbon and nature‑based solutions.
• Coordinate consistency of environmental policy across programmes such as WINEP, Upstream Thinking and the South West Peatland Partnership.
• Lead environmental performance reporting, owning KPI development, baselines, metrics and reporting methodologies.
• Prepare annual environmental, sustainability and ESG disclosures and ensure they meet internal and external requirements.
• Manage environmental audit and assurance processes, driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in environmental policy development and interpretation.
• Strong understanding of biodiversity, natural capital and carbon accounting.
• Ability to work across multiple programmes and stakeholder groups.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of environmental legislation and industry reforms.
• Experience building KPI frameworks and performance dashboards.
• Familiarity with ESG reporting standards and sustainability disclosures.
