Navigation Systems Training Instructor

About the role

Our client is looking for a Navigation Systems Training Instructor to join a permanent team in Gosport, Portsmouth. The role supports a transformational training programme for the Royal Navy, delivering modernised marine training to produce better‑trained sailors faster.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver training on naval navigation and positional data systems, together with basic engineering principles for the RN Weapon Engineering department.
• Work with Learning & Development and Training Delivery teams to tailor learning pathways for individual sailors.
• Analyse performance data and insights to drive continuous improvement across training establishments.
• Identify and share best practices to raise training quality and consistency across all RN locations.
• Implement standardised processes and ensure training KPIs and SLAs are met for simulated and synthetic learning programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience maintaining navigation and gyro sensor systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate across teams and engage with mid‑level stakeholders.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
• Level 3 teaching certificate or willingness to enrol on an internal training course.
• Experience in military weapon engineering sensor maintenance or equivalent.
