Network Engineer – Hybrid (London) – £550/day

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer / Network Designer to join a major enterprise transformation programme in London. The role is contract‑based (6 months) and hybrid, focusing on designing, implementing and documenting large‑scale network and security projects across hybrid cloud and on‑premise environments.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑level and low‑level network designs, diagrams and technical documentation.
• Design and implement enterprise network solutions across Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper and Azure technologies.
• Configure routing, segmentation, cloud connectivity, IPSec VPNs, Azure VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway and ExpressRoute.
• Contribute to Cisco ACI, Juniper Mist and F5 LTM deployments.
• Develop implementation plans, migration runbooks, testing procedures and hand‑over artefacts.
• Automate network configuration and deployment using Python, Terraform, GitHub or Ansible.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation to enterprise standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering enterprise network solutions and transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, NAT, QoS, IPSec VPN).
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco ACI, Juniper Mist and enterprise firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper SRX).
• Extensive Azure networking experience, including hybrid connectivity and cloud security.
• Experience with Zero Trust architectures using Zscaler ZIA/ZPA.
• Excellent documentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
