Network Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join a forward‑thinking national organisation based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role is a one‑year fixed‑term contract supporting the company’s rapid growth and technical investment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain core network infrastructure including DNS, DHCP, routers, switches and firewalls.
• Implement and support Microsoft Windows Server services such as Active Directory, Group Policy and related server technologies.
• Troubleshoot network issues and ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate networking solutions with broader business projects.
• Manage documentation and follow change‑control procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar networking role.
• Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, routing, switching and firewall concepts.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory Domain Services and Group Policy management.
• Strong time‑management skills and ability to handle competing priorities.
