Network Engineering Manager

About the role

The Network Engineering Manager will work closely with Project Management and Engineering teams to design, configure and deliver high‑end network and telecommunications solutions for residential and superyacht projects. This field‑based position involves international travel and direct client interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Consult on network design and architecture for yacht and luxury residential projects.
• Configure, deploy and commission routing, switching, Wi‑Fi, firewalls and WAN infrastructure.
• Own technical quality through testing, fault‑finding and final sign‑off.
• Produce and maintain accurate as‑built documentation, IP plans and test results.
• Provide escalation support during build and commissioning phases.
• Lead a team of engineers, allocating tasks, coaching and ensuring standards.
• Manage interfaces with shipyards, builders, owners’ representatives and third‑party contractors.
• Report progress, risks and blockers to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Excellent communicator with strong client‑facing skills.
• Proven network engineering experience, especially in wireless, fibre optics and telecom systems.
• CCNA certification is essential; CCNP or equivalent experience is desirable.
• Ability to travel internationally and work on‑site.

Required skills

• VLANs, trunking, STP fundamentals.
• DHCP/DNS, OSPF (preferred), BGP (a plus).
• QoS, traffic shaping, multicast/IGMP.
• PoE budgeting and design.
• Enterprise Wi‑Fi deployment, Wi‑Fi surveys (Ekahau or equivalent).
• Firewall configuration (Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point, Sophos, WatchGuard, Palo Alto).
• Network segmentation, VPN, ACL deployment.
• Multi‑WAN/SD‑WAN solutions (Peplink, Celerway, Kerio, Sophos).
