Network Manager

About the role

The Network Manager will lead the design, implementation and maintenance of the school's ICT network, ensuring reliable, secure and high‑performance connectivity for staff and students. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will shape the school's IT strategy and oversee day‑to‑day network operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, secure and maintain the school's ICT network infrastructure, including hardware and software components.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support and ensure compliance with school policies.
• Oversee IT technicians on site and coordinate with the Managed Service Provider.
• Monitor and maintain virtual and physical server environments, switches, Microsoft 365 services and backup solutions.
• Deliver technical advice, training and support to staff to maximise system utilisation.
• Lead network upgrades and project planning in collaboration with senior leadership.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience as an IT Manager, Network Manager or Senior ICT Consultant in a school setting.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to service improvement.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer‑service abilities.
• Eligibility for an enhanced DBS check.
