Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer

About the role

The Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer will join Gigaclear’s lean NOC team to keep the fibre broadband network live 24/7/365. Reporting to the NOC Manager, you will handle first‑line fault resolution for LAN/WAN services, support customer home networks, cabinet switches and routers, and perform proactive software and firmware updates.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day network administrative tasks and audit new cabinets.
• Create and maintain documentation to aid fault resolution.
• Provide remote support for ISP issues, troubleshooting routers, CPEs, NTEs and switches.
• Liaise with third‑party contractors, internal departments and customers via email and telephone.
• Manage incidents within SLA and respond to network events from the monitoring platform.
• Own technical cases escalated from the Triage team and coordinate with field technicians.
• Work on a shift schedule covering weekdays, weekends and on‑call duties.

Required profile

• Knowledge of home IT environments (home networks, servers, Wi‑Fi, Ethernet over power).
• Understanding of network operation concepts such as routing, VLANs, RSTP and Ethernet.
• Experience in a technical service desk or similar support role is desirable.
• CompTIA Network+ certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Degree in Computer Science, Networks, IT or related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
