Network Quality Assurance Technician

About the role

The Network Quality Assurance Technician ensures safe, compliant and high‑quality delivery of water across Bristol Water’s distribution network. Working closely with contractors, delivery partners and internal teams, you will act as the key link that guarantees network activities meet regulatory, environmental and customer standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor contractor and delivery partner activities across the water distribution network.
• Verify compliance with company specifications, industry standards, NRSWA requirements, permits and environmental obligations.
• Identify and resolve workmanship, quality and compliance issues.
• Assess contractor performance against service‑level and quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to approved methods, risk assessments, design instructions and operational procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture and monitor SHEQ compliance of all network works.
• Report incidents, accidents, near‑misses and utility strikes promptly.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
• Support planned and reactive network activities such as mains isolations and supply interruptions.
• Contribute to maintaining network integrity and resilience.

Required profile

• Proven experience in water utility network operations or a similar infrastructure sector.
• Good knowledge of NRSWA regulations, health & safety and environmental standards.
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, local authorities and internal teams.
• Strong analytical skills to assess performance data and identify non‑conformities.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
