Newly Qualified HGV Class 1 Driver – Early Morning Shift

About the role

Heron Foods is looking for newly qualified Class 1 (C+E) drivers to join its delivery fleet on an early‑morning (AM) shift. The role starts with a six‑week paid training programme and progresses to independent deliveries across the Yorkshire and Humberside region.

Key responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles safely on scheduled routes.
• Load and unload goods at Heron Foods stores and customer sites.
• Complete delivery paperwork and digital tachograph records.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any defects.

Required profile

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, recently passed.
• Willingness to work a 4 am start on a 5‑on‑3‑off roster.
• Ability to work independently after training completion.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of CPC regulations.
• Familiarity with digital tachograph operation.

• £38,000 salary during training, rising to up to £47,218.22 plus overtime after qualification.
