Night Care Assistant – Residential Care Home

About the role

Join Friends of the Elderly at the newly opened Friends Place in Calcot as a Night Care Assistant. You will work 12‑hour night shifts (8 pm‑8 am) on a rolling rota, providing compassionate, person‑centred care to residents in a modern, community‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.
• Provide companionship and emotional support during night hours.
• Prepare and serve evening meals and snacks.
• Assist residents with mobility and safe transfers.
• Maintain accurate care records and hand over information to the day‑time team.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in a residential care home.
• Hold the Care Certificate or a Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care.
• Empathetic, respectful, self‑motivated and flexible.
• Team‑player willing to go the extra mile for residents.
• Genuine passion for supporting older people.
