Night Care Assistant – Residential Care Home

About the role

Join Meadowvale Care Home in Bathgate as a Night Care Assistant. You will provide compassionate, person‑centred support to up to 52 residents during the night shift, ensuring their safety, comfort and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting, according to individual care plans.
• Assist residents with mobility, positioning and safe transfers during the night.
• Monitor nutrition and hydration, offering meals or fluids as needed.
• Observe and record any changes in residents' condition, reporting concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe and calming environment throughout the night.

Required profile

• A caring, respectful attitude with a genuine desire to support older adults.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability, a positive outlook and willingness to learn.
• Previous care experience is beneficial but not essential.
• SVQ Level 2 or willingness to work towards it is desirable.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of personal care procedures.
• Ability to follow written care plans and health‑safety guidelines.
