Night Care Assistant – Residential Care Home

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Night Care Assistant to join the dedicated night team at a family‑owned residential care home in Southminster, Essex. The home provides a homely environment for up to 25 older residents, and the successful candidate will help ensure their safety, comfort and wellbeing throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred care during night shifts, including assistance with personal hygiene and mobility.
• Carry out regular welfare and comfort checks and respond promptly to call bells.
• Provide reassurance and support to residents who require assistance during the night.
• Maintain accurate care records and complete handovers for the day team.
• Uphold residents’ dignity, privacy and independence at all times.

Required profile

• A caring, patient and compassionate nature.
• Ability to work confidently during night hours.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable and professional attitude.
• Previous care experience is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of personal care and mobility support techniques.
