Night Care Support Worker – Residential Childcare

About the role

Join Goldcrest Lodge as a Night Care Support Worker and provide a safe, nurturing environment for vulnerable children during overnight hours. You will be the caring presence that helps them sleep securely and wake up ready for the day ahead.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular welfare checks on children throughout the night, at least every 15 minutes when required.
• Comfort, settle, and support children who wake during the night while respecting their dignity and privacy.
• Follow medical guidance and administer care according to individual care plans.
• Complete household duties such as laundry, light food preparation, and cleaning of communal areas.
• Maintain accurate handovers and daily reports for each child, recording any incidents, accidents, or medication administration.
• Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and fire safety procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Compassionate, patient, and reliable with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and work independently during night shifts.
• Commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their wellbeing.
• Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to changing needs.
• Previous experience in residential childcare is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
