Night Charge Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Night Charge Nurse to lead the clinical and operational delivery of care during night shifts at our 45‑resident care home in Lanark. This senior position requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to make decisive decisions that ensure the safety and quality of care.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for clinical and operational delivery during night shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Lead, coordinate and support the nursing team, overseeing clinical practice and medication processes.
• Ensure care is delivered in line with individual care plans, regulatory standards and best practice.
• Respond promptly to changes in residents' conditions and maintain continuity of care.
• Support staff development, promote good practice and contribute to a professional, supportive environment.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with an active NMC PIN.
• Proven clinical leadership and decision‑making abilities.
• Experience supervising or leading a nursing team.
• Confidence in managing a shift independently.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of care.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £22.55.
• Contracted hours between 33‑44 per week.
• Paid PVG, paid NMC registration, pension and uniform.
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (full‑time basis).
