Night HGV Class 1 Driver – Full‑time (Barking)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver to join our family‑run transport business in Barking, Essex. The position is permanent, full‑time and operates on night shifts from Monday to Friday, offering a stable schedule on an established contract.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and safety checks.
• Secure loads and ensure compliance with road‑weight regulations.
• Complete scheduled deliveries and collections during night hours.
• Accurately fill out all required paperwork and electronic logs.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and the operations team throughout the shift.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Current Digital Tachograph card.
• Up‑to‑date Driver CPC qualification.
• Proven HGV driving experience, preferably on night routes.
• Good understanding of drivers’ hours regulations and safe working practices.
• Professional, reliable attitude with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Operation of Digital Tachograph equipment.
• Conducting vehicle safety and load‑securing checks.
• Knowledge of drivers’ hours rules and compliance.
