Night Import Operator – 4 on/4 off

About the role

Freightserve is seeking a dedicated Night Import Operator to join its Heathrow‑based team. You will work a 4‑night on, 4‑night off schedule, handling air import documentation and coordinating with customs to ensure smooth clearance of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review import paperwork such as airway bills, invoices, permits and certificates of origin.
• Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.
• Submit customs declarations and liaise with authorities to secure timely release of shipments.
• Stay informed on import regulations, tariffs and trade agreements.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve delays or discrepancies.
• Calculate, track and ensure payment of import duties, taxes and fees.
• Monitor shipments, provide real‑time updates and address any issues that arise.

Required profile

• Previous experience in air import operations or international logistics.
• Good knowledge of customs regulations and export documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.

Required skills

• Proficiency in relevant computer software and applications.

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £35,000 and £40,000 per year.
• Shift pattern of 4 nights on, 4 nights off (6 pm‑6 am or 7 pm‑7 am).
