Night Nurse RGN

About the role

As a Registered General Nurse working night shifts in a Barchester care home, you will look after the physical, psychological and social needs of residents, creating a safe and supportive environment. You will use your professional judgement to make critical clinical decisions and ensure high‑quality care throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care covering physical, mental and social wellbeing of residents.
• Develop and implement tailored care plans and conduct detailed risk assessments.
• Administer medication safely and monitor its effects.
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment and respond to emergencies with professional judgement.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellence in night‑time care.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical best practices.
• Proven experience creating care plans and performing risk assessments.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as DoLS/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Compassionate, person‑centred approach to nursing.
