Night Shift HGV Technician – West Thurrock

About the role

We are seeking a fully qualified HGV Technician to join a main dealer in the West Thurrock area on a permanent night‑shift basis. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing HGV tractor units to agreed timescales, working 40 hours per week from Tuesday night to Saturday morning.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on HGVs.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and perform scheduled servicing to DVSA standards.
• Conduct 6‑ or 8‑weekly inspections and correct running defects.
• Deliver repairs and component replacements within agreed deadlines.

Required profile

• Fully qualified HGV fitter/mechanic (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Operating licence knowledge is advantageous but not essential.

Required skills

• HGV fitting and mechanical repair.
• Routine maintenance and inspections.
• MOT preparation and DVSA‑compliant servicing.
