Night Shift Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team on the night shift at our Haddenham manufacturing site. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient and reliable operation of production equipment, carrying out planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Follow site Health & Safety standards, including PPE, LOTO, isolation, permits and contractor control procedures.
• Maintain compliance with Quality Management Systems, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Environmental standards.
• Perform multi‑skilled maintenance across electrical, mechanical and controls disciplines.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot breakdowns and return equipment to a safe, serviceable condition.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance and complete work orders within agreed timescales.
• Record all maintenance activities in the CMMS, including spare‑part usage.
• Provide clear handovers to the incoming shift and communicate key issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Operations, Quality and Project teams to improve equipment reliability and product quality.

Required profile

• Experience in a food manufacturing, FMCG or similar production environment.
• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting abilities.
• Multi‑skilled across electrical, mechanical and controls engineering.
• Knowledge of HACCP, PUWER, LOLER and COSHH regulations.
• Good PC literacy, including Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team.
