Night Shift Production Manager

About the role

Proman UK is a fast‑growing food manufacturing business looking for a Night Shift Production Manager to lead production and packing operations from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am, Monday to Friday. You will be responsible for ensuring output, efficiency, food safety and quality standards are consistently met during the night shift.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Production and Packing teams to deliver the night‑shift production plan and meet customer requirements.
• Coordinate line start‑ups, ensuring materials and equipment are ready before production begins.
• Manage staff rotas, agency workers and labour budgets, handling holiday requests and absences.
• Allocate labour across lines to maximise output and minimise downtime.
• Maintain clear communication with Production, QA, Engineering, Warehouse and Planning.
• Drive KPI performance (output, efficiency, yield, waste, downtime, labour) and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and escalate operational risks, support continuous improvement and ensure audit readiness for BRC and customer standards.
• Promote a strong food‑safety culture, health‑and‑safety compliance and professional discipline.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading night‑shift production or packing in a food‑manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of food‑safety standards (BRC) and GMP requirements.
• Ability to manage staff rotas, agency labour and budget constraints.
• Excellent communication skills across multiple departments.
• Track record of driving KPI performance and implementing corrective actions.
