Night Shift Quality Control Inspector

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Night Shift Quality Control Inspector to join our client’s manufacturing team in Romford. The role ensures that parts, assemblies and sub‑assemblies meet engineering specifications, quality standards and customer requirements during the night shift.

Key responsibilities

• Verify conformity of parts, assemblies and sub‑assemblies against engineering drawings and the quality management system.
• Maintain complete, auditable inspection records and traceability.
• Support production by performing batch first‑off verification and creating First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Conduct inspections across the manufacturing and supply‑chain process, identifying and reporting non‑conformances.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance, Health, Safety and Environment policies.
• Process and return documentation for externally processed parts.
• Escalate quality concerns to production management and quality engineering.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis, preventive actions and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to New Product Introduction meetings and advise on inspection methodology.

Required profile

• Ability to interpret technical data, engineering drawings and FAIR documentation.
• Experience with goods‑inward inspection of finished products or components.
• Familiarity with aerospace customers and suppliers is preferred.
• HND qualification or equivalent with solid knowledge of Imperial and metric geometry.
• Strong numerical skills and accurate measurement calculations.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Capability to work independently or as part of a team under tight deadlines.
