Night Shift Recycling Operative – Temporary (Portsmouth)

About the role
We are seeking a Recycling Operative for a temporary night‑shift cover in Tipner, Portsmouth. The role starts immediately and is expected to last around three weeks, with the possibility of extension.
Key responsibilities
- Operate a picking line and sort commercial and domestic waste from skips.
- Separate wood, metal and plastic into the appropriate bins.
- Lift, move and load materials safely.
- Ensure materials meet recycling standards before processing.
- Wear required PPE, report hazards and work safely around plant machinery.
Required profile
- Willingness to work night shifts (18:00‑06:00).
- Comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
