Night Traffic Operator – 4 on/4 off Shift

About the role

Join Maritime Transport’s Bristol depot as a Night Traffic Operator, working a 4‑on/4‑off roster. You will coordinate container movements during night hours, ensuring drivers, ports and customers stay aligned.

Key responsibilities

• Manage communication with multiple drivers and ports.
• Book delivery slots and coordinate entry times at ports.
• Record driver start and finish times using the TOPS transport system.
• Chase drivers for ETAs, monitor punctuality and reroute jobs when required.
• Verify that all Proof‑of‑Delivery documents match the corresponding jobs in the system.
• Inform customers of potential delays and provide updates.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Traffic Operator (essential).
• Confident written and verbal communicator.
• Willingness to work a 4‑on/4‑off night shift pattern.
• Excellent knowledge of UK geography.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems quickly and stay organised.
• Flexibility to meet business demands.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the TOPS transport system.
