Non-Financial Risk & Control Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Non-Financial Risk & Control Manager to join Santander Consumer Finance UK’s Risk team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Reporting to the Head of Non-Financial Risk, you will lead the day‑to‑day management of the Non‑Financial Risk function, ensuring alignment with group‑wide frameworks and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Non‑Financial Risk team, including planning and daily oversight.
• Own and monitor the risk appetite for non‑financial risks.
• Prepare and present non‑financial risk initiatives and methodology to shareholders and group bodies.
• Approve Operational Risk Assessments for change‑management projects.
• Review and approve Risk Acceptance requests within mandated limits.
• Produce monthly management information for relevant committees.
• Support the SCUK Risk and Control Self‑Assessment and represent the function in SCUK and SanUK/SCF forums.
• Lead incident investigations, reporting and escalation of threats to the business.
• Coordinate Bronze Crisis Management events and escalation to higher‑level crisis processes.
• Oversee operational risk, resilience and control performance for joint ventures.

Required profile

• Relevant industry qualification (e.g., ICA, PRM) with at least 3 years’ experience in a risk and control environment.
• Proven ability to act as subject‑matter expert for risk‑related management tools.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships across the business.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of SCUK policies and processes.
