Non-Medical Prescriber – Substance Misuse (Temporary)

About the role
This temporary position supports substance misuse services across Crawley and Mid‑Sussex by providing prescribing expertise for opiate and alcohol substitute treatments. The role is essential during the summer holiday period to maintain continuity of care.
Key responsibilities
- Initiate prescribing and amend prescriptions for opiate and alcohol substitute treatments and related medications.
- Lead the development of the prescribing clinic and act as the primary contact for colleagues and partner agencies on prescribing matters.
- Cover clinics at multiple locations, travelling primarily within Crawley and Mid‑Sussex, with occasional extensions as required.
- Provide cover for outreach clinics delivered through homeless support services.
Required profile
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Post‑registration experience as a Non‑Medical Prescriber (NMP) within substance misuse services.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Required skills
- Prescribing authority for controlled substances.
- Knowledge of substance misuse treatment protocols.
