Not for Profit Audit Director

About the role

TPF Recruitment is partnering with a respected chartered accountancy firm in Kent to recruit a Not for Profit Audit Director. This senior leadership position offers autonomy, a diverse client portfolio and a strong emphasis on work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a substantial portfolio of charity, academy and not‑for‑profit audit engagements.
• Act as a trusted adviser to trustees, finance directors, CEOs and governing bodies.
• Oversee audit planning, delivery and quality control across the portfolio.
• Provide technical expertise on charity accounting regulations and audit standards.
• Support and develop managers and senior audit team members.
• Identify opportunities to grow the firm’s not‑for‑profit service line.
• Participate in business development, networking and client relationship management.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Extensive experience managing charity and not‑for‑profit audits within practice.
• Hold or be working towards Responsible Individual status.
• Strong technical knowledge of charity accounting regulations and auditing standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication and relationship management skills.
• Desire to take a senior leadership role in a collaborative firm.
