About the role
Kennedys is seeking an NQ+ Associate to join its specialist Policy & Coverage team in Edinburgh. The role offers a unique opportunity for a qualified solicitor with a passion for insurance policy analysis and complex coverage disputes to work on high‑profile matters across the UK and internationally.
Key responsibilities
- Advise insurers on policy coverage and indemnity issues.
- Draft detailed coverage opinions across multiple lines of business.
- Represent clients in declaratory proceedings and coverage litigation.
- Support claims teams with strategic and commercial decision‑making.
- Collaborate closely with senior coverage specialists and engage with UK‑wide and international matters.
Required profile
- Qualified solicitor (NQ+).
- Background in insurance, commercial litigation or dispute resolution.
- Strong written communication skills and a keen interest in policy wording and interpretation.
- Commercial, pragmatic and client‑focused approach.
