About the role
Our client is seeking a newly qualified solicitor to join their busy Wills & Probate department in Horwich. The role offers the chance to work alongside experienced colleagues, handling a variety of private client matters while building your own caseload.
Key responsibilities
- Manage your own developing caseload of Private Client matters with appropriate supervision.
- Advise clients on wills, lasting powers of attorney, probate and estate administration, and Court of Protection matters.
- Draft wills, LPAs and other private client documentation.
- Prepare and submit Probate Registry applications.
- Deliver compassionate, professional service to elderly, vulnerable and bereaved clients.
- Attend appointments at the office, clients' homes and care settings as required.
- Maintain accurate case records using the case management system.
- Prepare correspondence and legal documentation to a high standard.
- Ensure efficient file management and meet deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide an excellent client experience.
- Take an active role in professional development and continuous learning.
Required profile
- Qualified solicitor status (or imminent qualification).
- Genuine interest in a career in private client law.
- Good technical knowledge of wills, lasting powers of attorney and estate administration.
- Desire to work towards STEP accreditation.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good IT skills and experience with case management systems.
- Strong interpersonal and client‑care abilities.
- Compassionate, professional approach to supporting vulnerable and bereaved clients.
- Positive, proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team.
- Full driving licence and access to a car for business travel (preferred).
