Nursery Assistant

About the role

Kindred Nurseries is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join its permanent team in Hauxton, Cambridgeshire. You will work in a supportive early‑years environment, helping children learn, play and develop while delivering a high standard of care.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome parents, carers and children with a warm, professional approach.
• Create a safe, stimulating and educational setting for children to explore.
• Maintain a clean, organised and homely environment throughout the day.
• Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote learning through play.
• Build relationships with key children, recording interests and achievements via observations.
• Follow all company policies, safeguarding procedures and report any concerns promptly.
• Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational ability and keen attention to detail.
• Good time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Commitment to working within early years childcare.
• Outstanding customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Paediatric First Aid (desirable).
• Food Hygiene (desirable).
