Nursery Chef

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Chef to join Brimpton House Day Nursery in Kelvedon. The chef will prepare fresh, nutritious meals tailored to the dietary needs of young children, supporting their health and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook daily meals for children, minimizing waste.
• Ensure all dietary restrictions and allergies are accurately addressed.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen in line with hygiene regulations.
• Conduct regular hygiene checks and follow Red, Amber and Green plate procedures.
• Manage food ordering and inventory within the allocated budget.

Required profile

• Experience cooking in a domestic or commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food allergies, dietary requirements and COSHH regulations.
• Ability to work within a catering budget.
• Fluent spoken and written English (minimum GCSE grade C).
• Commitment to safeguarding children; DBS check required.
