Nursery Deputy Manager – Day Nursery & Pre‑School

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join Footsteps Lichfield Road Day Nursery & Pre‑School, a Good‑rated Ofsted nursery in Tamworth. You will support the Manager in delivering high‑quality care and education for children under five, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, parents and visitors at all times.
• Ensure compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.
• Oversee medication administration and keep care plans up to date for children and staff with health needs.
• Provide purposeful, age‑appropriate experiences and resources for children.
• Inspire and support the staff team with creative ideas and challenges.
• Maintain accurate records on the EyMan system and related files.
• Undertake any additional duties required for the smooth running of the nursery.

Required profile

• Level 3 Childcare Qualification (essential).
• Experience working in an early years setting, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong commitment to child safety and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EyMan childcare management system.
