Nursery Deputy Manager – Early Years Leadership

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Deputy Manager to support the delivery of high‑quality early years care at Woodhams Farm Day Nursery, a purpose‑built barn‑style setting on a rural acre near Winchester. The role combines leadership, safeguarding and curriculum development in a vibrant, nature‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, parents and visitors at all times.
• Maintain compliance with the statutory EYFS framework across the setting.
• Oversee medication administration and keep health care plans up to date.
• Provide stimulating, age‑appropriate experiences and resources for children.
• Communicate effectively with families and staff, promoting consistency and impartiality.
• Inspire and support the team with creative ideas and new challenges.

Required profile

• Level 3 Childcare Qualification (essential).
• Proven experience in an early years setting, preferably in a leadership capacity.
• Strong understanding of EYFS requirements and safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to manage health and medication plans with accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
