Nursery Manager (Maternity Cover) – Leigh

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Nursery Manager to lead a small, vibrant nursery attached to a local primary school in Leigh. This is a maternity‑cover position starting in September, offering standard school hours (08:30‑15:30) Monday to Friday during term time.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day management and smooth running of the nursery.
• Lead, mentor and inspire a close‑knit team of early years practitioners.
• Ensure full compliance with the EYFS framework, Ofsted regulations and safeguarding policies.
• Maintain strong relationships with parents, carers and the attached school’s leadership.
• Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all children.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (Degree in Early Years or EYPS/EYITT highly desirable).
• Proven experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or strong Room Leader ready to step up.
• Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
