Nursery Room Leader (Term‑Time)

About the role

This term‑time position is for an inspiring early years professional who wants to create magical learning experiences for children. You will lead a dedicated room team in a nursery that blends themed workshops, mindfulness, forest school adventures and music to nurture curiosity, confidence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support the room team to deliver outstanding childcare and education.
• Create a warm, stimulating environment where each child can thrive.
• Plan and deliver engaging activities that reflect children’s interests and support individual development.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Champion the nursery’s ethos of mindfulness, outdoor learning and child‑led discovery.
• Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety.
• Support learning in line with the EYFS framework while embracing the nursery’s unique approach.

Required profile

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (or higher).
• Previous experience leading a nursery room or a strong desire to step into a leadership role.
• Passion for delivering high‑quality early years education.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Kind, positive and professional leadership style.
• Belief that children learn best through play, exploration and meaningful experiences.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Experience planning themed workshops, mindfulness activities and outdoor learning.
• Ability to foster emotional wellbeing through yoga and music.
