Nursery Supervisor – £32-40k

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is based in Milland, South East England, within a family‑run horticultural business renowned for high‑quality plant production. The Nursery Supervisor will lead a small, experienced team, ensuring daily nursery operations run smoothly while maintaining a safe, efficient, and organised work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support daily nursery activities across the site.
• Interpret management plans to deliver tasks independently and efficiently.
• Operate machinery—including tractors, telehandlers and forklifts—as part of production.
• Perform practical nursery work such as planting, pruning, and seasonal tasks.
• Carry out daily machinery checks, basic maintenance and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Guide and assist team members, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.

Required profile

• Strong background in an outdoor, practical or nursery environment.
• Experience operating machinery such as tractors, telehandlers or forklifts.
• Previous supervisory experience or the ability to step into a leadership role.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Organised, reliable and able to work independently.
