Nursery Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a nurturing Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our specialist provision in Milton Keynes. You will support children and young people aged 5‑11 with autism and significant cognitive learning difficulties, delivering tailored assistance at an early‑years developmental level.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils in a low‑stimulus, nurturing environment.
• Implement individualized learning plans and adapt activities to meet each child's needs.
• Assist with communication development and help overcome barriers to learning.
• Collaborate with senior staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and daily observations.

Required profile

• Experience in a nursery setting or specialist SEN provision.
• Confidence working with children who have autism and additional learning needs.
• Empathetic, adaptable, and child‑centred approach.
• Commitment to supporting learners in overcoming educational and communication challenges.
