Nursery Team Leader (Babies)

About the role

Join Childbase Partnership as a Nursery Team Leader for the baby room at River View Day Nursery in Hertford. You will lead a small team, ensuring high‑quality care and learning experiences for infants while supporting the overall ethos of belonging, contribution and excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Key Person for each child, planning and delivering engaging, play‑based activities aligned with the EYFS.
• Observe, assess and record children’s progress, sharing insights with parents and senior staff.
• Lead, mentor and schedule the room‑based team, fostering a collaborative and safe environment.
• Maintain rigorous safeguarding standards and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the nursery’s quality outcomes.

Required profile

• DfE‑approved early years qualification at Level 3 or above.
• At least two years recent experience working in an early years setting, preferably with babies.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and ability to implement it effectively.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection best practices.

• Fixed‑term contract until June 2027, 36‑40 hrs/week with flexible 4‑ or 5‑day patterns.
• Salary £33,150‑£36,837 per annum (pro‑rata) or £15.94‑£17.71 per hour.
