Nursery Third in Charge – Early Years Leader

About the role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Third in Charge to join our supportive team at Footsteps Nursery in Stafford. You will help create a safe, engaging environment where children can learn, play and develop, while supporting the wider leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the nursery leadership team by modelling positive behaviour and maintaining high standards of care.
• Coach, supervise and develop staff through regular feedback and collaborative teamwork.
• Build strong partnerships with parents and carers through clear communication and support.
• Maintain staffing ratios and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations of the nursery.
• Contribute to the implementation of EYFS and safeguarding best practices.

Required profile

• Compassionate, reliable and committed to making a difference each day.
• Essential: Level 3 childcare qualification.
• Confident written and spoken English.
• Desirable: Experience in an Early Years setting and knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding.
