Nurture Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Nurture Teaching Assistant to support secondary‑school pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) or Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You will work within a nurture group, delivering tailored support across the Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum on a long‑term basis.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance to pupils with SEMH/EBD, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Support pupils across the secondary curriculum, ensuring inclusion in all subjects.
• Maintain a calm, positive learning environment and promote independence and enjoyment of learning.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies and monitor pupil progress.

Required profile

• Qualified Teaching Assistant with experience working with SEMH or EBD students.
• Strong communication skills and ability to hold student attention.
• Familiarity with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 curricula.
• Commitment to differentiating instruction for pupils with additional learning needs.
